We've almost got it started.

I don't know why I feel compelled to make breakthroughs every single day, but the team and I are planning a Thursday full of component-collecting.
Here's the basic idea for what we're putting together:
http://www.instructables.com/id/Make-a-good,-cheap,-upgradeable-sheet-plastic-vacu/
That should give you all the info you need to do something like this, just not the drive, startup cash or plans.  So the basic update I'll give you consists of, "we're still doing research".  I mean, I want to get much better at my plastic-forming technique before I start tossing out armor plates left and right (we're having juuuuust a bit of trouble with how exactly we're going to do marine/firebat shoulders, since they need to be in multiple pieces).  While there's no word yet from the sponsor, I'm starting to think that it would just make things complicated and spoil the pace and scope of the project.  I expect that it'll be a while before we get around to doing www.projectarmor.com but at least I really won't have much to do with it.  I'll be filming Thursday's meeting and escapades to the store, but in the meantime, create excitement and exuberance about the prospect of a guy making custom Terran Marine armor.
